New World – What I want from my Art

I have been thinking about a whole new world that I would love to live in, one that doesn’t have any anti-anything agendas. I think we can do more, say more, make more statements about what we want in our world through art.

My goal these days isn’t sweet lovely art but art that really says & means something to me. When I was in art school, I created art with meaning, art that said something, art that meant something to me. Somehow over the years, I lost track of my spirit, drive and emotions behind creating art. I fell into the trap of creating art and selling it for selling it sake. I don’t want to do that anymore.

I want to create art from my soul and my heart. What moves me, when I think about things is women, how we are treated. Separate and not equal. The other thing that really moves me is our planet and what’s becoming of our world as we know it. I want to FEEL when I work on my art and I want people around me to feel & see what is important to me too. I really want to make a statement and use my talents to speak to what moves me.

I have made a few mixed media pieces lately and feel very strongly about them. I have them here below; enjoy them (or not) but share them with those you feel would benefit from seeing them.
